Our team

Studios in Devon, London & the Isle of Skye

We are an energetic and experienced team of 14 landscape architects and garden designers, led by founders Charlotte Harris and Hugo Bugg. Across our three studios in Devon, London, and the Isle of Skye, we work on residential, commercial, botanic, and public gardens at every scale.

At our agile size, we have the capacity to ensure projects move swiftly using relevant and specific skills for the best results, all the while ensuring hands-on contact with our Directors.

We are accustomed to working with and alongside wider design and delivery teams including architects, engineers, ecologists, project managers, head gardeners, main and specialist contractors.

We are passionate about landscapes. We spend our spare time exploring them – from Cornwall to the Highlands – and our professional time working in them. We have in depth understanding of developing considered, resonant gardens in these special settings.

If you would like to discuss a project or find out more about our work we’d be pleased to speak to you.

Working for us

We are always on the look-out for bright sparks to join our studio. We have a flexible approach and a hybrid working model, as we know everyone’s circumstances are different, and we offer a warm, supportive environment that recognises the importance of a balanced home-work life.

Send your CV, portfolio and a cover letter telling us about one garden or landscape that inspires you, and why to studio@harrisbugg.com.

If you’d like to be kept up to date about vacancies and opportunities as they arise, please drop us a line in full confidence to tellmemore@harrisbugg.com, with a quick overview of the sort of role you’re looking for. We’ll make sure you receive all future job vacancies as they are published.

Internships

We are committed to meaningful internships – we don’t believe in them being unpaid and we want our interns to get the most out of their experience as possible. That’s why we prefer to limit the placements we offer to 2-3 per year and request a time commitment from our interns of at least one month. As a small studio, you’ll be involved in projects from day one, so we do need you to have Vectorworks and InDesign skills as an essential requirement. Please send your portfolio and a cover letter telling us about one garden or landscape that inspires you, and why to studio@harrisbugg.com.
