The Barbican Conservatory, with its dramatic Brutalist structure and abundant planting, exemplifies the powerful interplay between nature and architecture, and is a vital green space at the heart of the capital. The project is a key part of a major programme of conservation and transformation being led by Allies and Morrison and Asif Khan Studio and environmental engineers Buro Happold.

The project team includes an exceptional group of experts, selected by Harris Bugg Studio: Matthew Pottage, Karen Fitzsimon, Christopher Young, Phil Griffiths, alongside collaboration with Marta Lowcewicz, head gardener and her team.

We are delighted to share that Harris Bugg Studio has been shortlisted in the Surface Design Awards for the garden we made for Horatio’s Garden at Chelsea Flower Show.

We have been recognised for the material innovation we showed when creating our aesthetically-beautiful, environmentally-friendly cement-free pathways.  The winners will be announced during the Surface Design Show 4-6 February 2025.

The line-up for next year’s Andalusia Garden Symposium has been announced.
