Two wins at MIPIM Awards 2023

March 2023

We are delighted to announce that two projects with landscape design by Harris Bugg Studio as part of collaborative design teams led by Fabrix have won in their categories at the MIPIM Awards 2023.

Roots In The Sky in Blackfriars won Best New Development and Atelier Gardens in Berlin won Best Urban Regeneration Project.

Roots in the Sky is a 1.4 acre urban forest, designed by Harris Bugg Studio, and will include 100 established trees, 10,000 plants and 1300 tonnes of soil, transforming the former Blackfriars Crown Court into one of the largest urban roof gardens in Europe, complementing the next generation workspaces in the building. The landscape design at Atelier Gardens aims to radically green the historic BUFA studios bringing benefit to people and wildlife and breathing new life and purpose into one of Europe’s oldest film studio sites. Green plazas, intimate garden character spaces and rooftop gardens are being created and the existing hard landscape, which covered the majority of the site, has been broken up and planted into, with all waste material repurposed and reused creatively – as test growing mediums, mulch and a range of habitats benefit pollinators and beneficial wildlife – rather than being transported to landfill.
